At Wonderschool, I create and maintained our design system, collaborating with engineers to translate designs into code effectively. Through customer research, I discovered that over 80% of our users struggled to utilize government programs due to inconsistent and opaque processes. I designed the Food Program in our Child Care Management System to address this, simplifying menu creation, meal tracking, and state submissions.

Building on this success, we identified an opportunity to improve state workflows by enabling digital submissions for the Food Program. This led to a collaboration with New Mexico to digitize and streamline their Provider Licensing process. This project enhanced user experience in our platform and opened doors for broader applications with other state partners by generalizing and abstracting our solutions for scalability.

Principle Product Designer

I joined HOVER to advance their capabilities in 3D vision. As a startup, HOVER had successfully developed software for scanning and capturing building exteriors, achieving notable success in the roofing industry. As a Principal Designer, my role is to collaborate with the R&D team to identify emerging markets, address new challenges, and explore innovative technologies. We focus on understanding current problems in 3D vision while anticipating where the technology will be five years from now. My goal has been to help realize the potential of the R&D department by aligning its work more closely with proven, real-world use cases. A key achievement has been streamlining the research process, reducing feedback cycles from weeks to days, and cutting monthly costs from $30,000 to $7,000.

R2C

Head of Product Design
2019-2022

I joined r2c early; I was one of the first ten new hires. They brought me on board to help the founders build a product using their tech to find ‘product-market fit.’ Since then, we have iterated on many product ideas and tested them in the market (my fav was a product we called Bento). Last year we created our current product, Semgrep, and it’s been a rocket ship ever since.

Yammer / Microsoft

Senior UX / UI Designer
2014 - 2019

At Yammer, I was a senior UX / UI designer. As a designer at Yammer, we do not only focus on one platform but on all as part of a very interdisciplinary yet small design team. We have worked to standardize our different platforms collectively, iOS / Android / Web, and even now looking to work across Microsoft on our design systems as a whole.

Avira GMBH

Senior Product Designer / Manager
2012-2014

At Avira, I was given an excellent opportunity to look into the current state of the security industry and conduct a lot of research to determine what is best for both the future of Avira and their end users. This research turned into three distinct outputs: Testing Product Ideas quickly, Standardizing the brand and design approach and creating a future vision for not only products but how to be 'relevant' to our user base.

I was surrounded by fantastic product managers and a team of designers that I managed globally.

Social Shield

Product Designer
2010-2012

At Social Shield, I was the only designer. So that meant learning to get scrappy! Everything from going to users in to test our products/ideas to UX strategy and pushing pixels. Every day was a new challenge, and it was a great ride that we all learned a lot from.
